Speaker Profile
Sverker qualified as a DDS in Stockholm / Umeå, Sweden in 1960, and then further completed a MSD at Indianapolis, Indiana, USA in 1964. He was Awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree at the University of Gothenburg, School of Dentistry 2000. Sverker owns his own Private Practice in Gothenburg, Sweden since 1964 and today 75% of my time in the practice. For his remaining time, he spends lecturing nationally and internationally at a Postgraduate level since 1965.
His main interest today is firmly in the minimally invasive bonded porcelain technique and its possibilities in aesthetic / cosmetic dentistry. And when he say’s minimally invasive, he does mean minimally invasive. His second major interest is the combination of this concept with world class orthodontics (performed by Björn Zachrisson, Oslo, Norway) where the preprosthetic orthodontic treatment is finalized with our bonded porcelain procedures when necessary.
Lecture Synopsis
“Minimally Invasive Bonded Porcelain Restorations – Our Concept, the long time Follow-ups and the Future”
Replacing gross amounts of tooth substance, lost for various reasons such as caries, trauma, anorexia/bulimia or bruxism gives you a practical and an ethical problem; how much more tooth structure should you sacrifice or could you justify to be removed in order to successfully replace the missing anatomy and the function and aesthetics of the tooth/teeth?
During the last 25 years we have successfully, aesthetically and functionally, replaced lost tooth substance with superthin, bonded porcelain and we have documented all cases photographically before, during and, after… So what did we learn? The lectures will emphasize the importance of a “Team Approach” and a precise clinical protocol.
