Lecture Synopsis

Important changes to employment law will take place in 2010 not least the biggest overhaul in discrimination legislation for many years with the introduction of the Equality Act. Employers need to be aware of the changes to employment law to comply with new legislation and consider necessary changes which may be required to existing practice procedures and policies. We’ll be looking at proposed regulations on equal treatment for agency workers, whether sick notes are becoming ‘fit notes’ and other developments. Finally we will review the latest case law relevant to “self-employed” associates and hygienists - are they really self-employed?
