Steve owns Taylor Dental Technology Centre in Leyland, Lancashire; which was established in 1989. A laboratory that has always focused on implants and aesthetic rehabilitation. He is a full member of BACD, BAAD and the ADI. He has been awarded Fellowship of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologist, and will take up the role of chairman at the next AGM in December 09. He has also been part time associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. He presents courses on a range of subjects including implants, occlusion, and ceramics. He is also a partner in Aspects dlm, a company that specializes in dental technology training.
Lecture Synopsis
Smile Design from Communication to Construction using PTC
The presentation will begin with a look at the vocabulary used within smile design. It is imperative all concerned are using a common language; whether the communication is between technicians within the same laboratory or from technician to clinician. It will then cover the 19 anatomical features of an anterior tooth, and how they inter relate. How the appearance of an individual tooth may be changed by accurate control of the features. The final portion of the presentation will look 10 components of a natural smile and give examples of various types of smiles. The arrangement of individual teeth will be discussed to show the vital role of reflectivity.
