Rob Dunn

I qualified in 1967 from Manchester with a Bachelor dental Surgery.  I was awarded a Diploma in General Dental Practice by the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 1992, and am a member of the International Team for Implantology.

I began my interest in dental implants in 1971 under Professor Obwegeser at the University of Zurich, when Dr Leonard Linkow presented his titanium fixtures for the replacement of missing teeth.
I placed my first implant in 1972 and have continued these treatments to the present day with constant modification and up-dating of ideas and systems.  My original patients have had their fixtures in place for over 35 years.

I have studied and used the following systems:-

LINKOW, STRAUMANN, STERI-OSS, 3i, NOBEL BIOCARE REPLACE and 3M/IMTEC ENDURE.

I have more than 15 years experience of the use of bone grafting and augmentation materials with particular reference to BIO-OSS and BIO-GIDE from the Swiss company GEISTLICH.  In conjunction with this company I studied advanced grafting of both hard and soft tissues at the University of Graz in Austria, and continued my studies with particular reference to ‘ALLODERM’ at the University of Barcelona.

In the last Five years I have introduced the use of the Sendax Mini-Implant from 3M/IMTEC and have been presenting seminars on behalf of the company throughout the UK.
