Phil is best known both in the U.K. and internationally for his extensive articles as well as his textbook on Clinical Dental Photography; a topic on which he has lectured extensively.
His recent series of articles on Dental Photography was published in the “Dental Practice Magazine“ and in 2009 he was voted as the 8th most influential dentist in the UK in a poll in the publication “Dentistry“. He also lectures on Complementary therapies in Dentistry and recently obtained a Fellowship in Homeopathy.
He qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1966 and obtained his MGDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 1980.

“Improve your image and communication with dentists”
Choosing and using a digital camera and accessories suitable to produce high quality photographs not only to document dental laboratory procedures but as an aid in Communication with patients and dentists is a vital part of successful treatment planning, saving time , reducing stress and avoiding misunderstanding by presenting a pictorial portrayal of the dental procedures involved in producing laboratory constructed restorations. Study models, impressions, internal view of restorations require specific lighting techniques in order to illuminate the to the best effect. The importance of framing, focusing and techniques to produce reproducible results will be discussed . Problem solving using photography with reference to colour and shade matching will be illustrated, as well as the use of “ cosmetic imaging” in order to give the patient and clinician an idea of how the finished restoration will look.
