How to deal effectively with medical emergencies in the dental environment
Whilst all qualified dental staff have regular basic life support updates, training in other medical emergencies such as asthma and myocardial infarction is often overlooked. However, these are no less life threatening and require prompt efficient treatment to ensure positive outcomes.
Biography

Katharine Bond BA(Hons), PGCE, M.Ed,
Katharine Bond works as a DCP training coordinator with the continuing professional development team at the Dental Nurse Education and Training Centre at Kings College Dental Hospital.
She started her dental nursing career in general practice and has since had a varied career working in NHS, private, Community and Dental Hospital settings. Katharine teaches on a number of dental nursing courses at Kings including Special Care and Dental Implant Nursing. She is a qualified first aider and regularly delivers medical emergencies training to the dental team. She is also an examiner for both the NEBDN National and the Oral Health Education certificates.
