This lecture will provide registered Dental Care Professionals with information on the aetiology, treatment and prevention of periodontal disease, fungal infections such as oral thrush and denture stomatitis, and a basic introduction to oral cancer.

Biography

Jillian Eastmond RDN FAETC

Jillian Eastmond is CPD Training Manager for the Dental Nurse Education & Training Centre at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust based at the Denmark Hill campus.

Qualified as a Dental Nurse at Manchester Dental Hospital in 1994, Jillian has worked in private & NHS practices as well as Dental Hospitals.  Jillian worked as a specialist Dental Nurse in the Restorative department at Guys Dental Hospital and as a head & neck cancer care coordinator for the Trust.

Jillian is a National and Oral Health Education examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses as well as a member of the NEBDN Certificate in Dental Radiography committee.

Jillian spoke at the nursing network - Dentistry 2010, the dentistry trade show and exhibition held each year.

Jillian is committed to improving quality and standards for Dental Nurses and is currently developing, managing and delivering a range of learning opportunities, including distance learning packages and one day seminars for the registered DCP and their dental team.

I am an experienced teacher who delivers lectures ranging from National certificate training, Post registration and CPD throughout the UK.
