Most practices should have in place the essential quality requirements of the HTM 01-05 by 31st December 2010; they should then be working towards achieving best practice. This presentation will be about essential requirements and moving towards achieving best practice for the highest standards of patient care.

Biography

Irene Pepper is a Senior Dental Nurse working part-time in a General Dental Practice in South East London, comprising of nine surgeries and is the nominated staff member responsible for infection control. She also works part-time as a Dental Nurse tutor with Smile Seminars Ltd delivering the National Certificate for Dental Nurses. She has over 25 years experience working in general dental practice.

Irene has worked on various training projects with the KSS, Eastern and London Postgraduate Dental Deaneries, including DNSTART, DNNET11, Clinical Dental Technician training and Clinical Governance projects.

Irene has a particular interest in infection control/decontamination and lectures widely on this topic.
