Ian Taylor

Ian Taylor is a highly skilled dental technician who has been working in the profession for over 34 years. Ian has pioneered porcelain veneers since 1988 and has worked with some of the best dentists in Cosmetic dentistry; Ian is the ceramist director of Castle Ceramics Dental Laboratory in Tamworth.

Recently Ian has been elected co- Chairman of the Midland British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry; Ian is the only Full member Dental Technician of the BACD in the Midlands. Ian has passed the written assessment on his way to full accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Functional Aesthetics and integrating occlusal knowledge has been a journey Ian and his dedicated team have pursued over the years, more recently completing Level 1 the Advancement of Dentistry in the Wirral with Dr John Cranham and Dr. Ian Buckle of the UK Dawson Academy and Roy Higson’s 6 day Advanced Restorative Dentistry IRS level course in Poole.

Ian is one of the few UK dental technician members of the British Society of Occlusal Studies (BSOS)Castle Ceramics specialise in all-ceramic restorative materials/systems including Chameleon Feldspathic minimal invasive porcelain veneers, Emax pressed restorations, Lava Zirconia and Gradia composite materials. Castle Ceramics continues to co-operate with Dental Manufacturers and Prof. T. Burke at Birmingham Dental School on material and clinical research projects, completing the lab work for 50 Lava zirconia bridge research project featured in the Dental Update magazine in 2008. In May 2009 Ian lectured at the ADI conference in Birmingham on the advantages the new Lava Digital Impressioning system (LCOS) will bring to the world of dental technology. His lab was the first in the UK to receive live scanned data using the LCOS system in February 2009.
