Dilemmas of Radiological Diagnosis
The aim of this lecture is to provide Dental Care Professionals with an insight into the difficulties encountered in dental radiological interpretation including limitations of 2D imaging, exposure factors, geometry issues, image processing, different types of imaging including panoramic radiography and visual perceptual issues as well as provide a brief insight into some medico-legal radiological dilemmas.

Senior lecturer/Honorary Consultant
Head of the Department of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiological Imaging at King’s College London Dental Institute (based at Guy’s Hospital) since 1988. Former President of the British Society of Dental and MaxilloFacial Radiology (BSDMFR) and the European Academy of Dental and MaxilloFacial Radiology (EADMFR). Member of the Dental Radiology Examination Board of The Royal College of Radiologists. National and International lecturer and author of several publications including the textbooks Essentials of Dental Radiography and Radiology – now in its 4th Edition - and Radiography and Radiology for Dental Care Professionals 2nd Edition, both published by Elsevier and co-author of British Orthodontic Society’s Guidelines for the use of radiographs in clinical orthodontics 3rd Ed. Honorary Clinical Adviser to the Dental Defence Union in the UK.
