Having foreseen that many practitioners and their dental teams will be seeking professional assistance in order to meet best practice goals, Optident Hygiene Solutions have now put together a fully comprehensive training programme that addresses virtually all aspects relating to effective cross infection controls within the dental practice. The structure and content of the course has been carefully vetted by Dr. Michael Martin and Dr. Martin Fulford, who will immediately be recognized as leading experts of cross infection control in dentistry.
The course leader is Carmel Maher, a fully trained adviser, who has worked in close cooperation with dental teams since 2004. Her knowledge extends into many areas, including practical dental practice procedures, together with first hand advice on the suitability of dental surgery decontamination equipment and accessories. The content of this 1 hour session taken from the training programme - focuses on effective hand hygiene protocols and personal protective equipment advice as described in the Department of Health Guidelines HTM-01-05.

Biography
Carmel has worked with dental teams on the subject of Infection Control since 2004, usually in individual practice environments where advice and guidance is specific to their own procedures and requirements. Carmel has also spoken at various BSDHT conferences in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and have presented at various Postgraduate centers across the country - working with foundation dentists and GDP’s on their localized training days. Carmel has received a number of testimonials from practices following her training presentations.
