
Free Complaints Handling booklet at the Dentistry Show
The latest figures released by the GDC shows that there has been an increase in the number of cases that they are currently investigating. The Fitness to Practice Committee had 1000 active cases open at the end of 2010 (approximately 825 in 2009).
Many of the cases reported to the GDC could have been dealt with at a much earlier stage if the practice had an effective in-house complaints procedure in place.
To assist with this and many other areas of complaints Dental Protection is providing free copies of a newly revised booklet to anyone visiting their stand (B30) at the Dentistry Show.
‘Handling complaints’ is a regional specific booklet that will be of particular use to practice managers and practice owners. The booklet provides detailed information regarding ‘understanding complaints’, complainant pitfalls, setting up an in-house complaints procedures and the most effective way to respond to complaints once they have occurred.
