Feeling the pinch - a press briefing announced by Dental Protection

Dental Protection indemnifies 70% of the UK dental profession and receives hundreds of telephone calls every week from members asking for assistance with legal and regulatory matters. The company is owned by its members and sits at the heart of the very profession which it serves.

Right now those members are being subjected to the pincer like activities of the Care Quality Commission and the General Dental Council in an attempt to further regulate the profession. Indeed the pressure on the dental profession has never been so great.

Two dento-legal advisers from Dental Protection will brief you on real-time issues for the profession as the CQC registration is about to go live and the GDC is in the process of reviewing its Fitness to Practise procedures.

Stephen Henderson and Sue Boynton are regularly in contact with the GDC and CQC on behalf of UK members and each will provide a brief overview of the key issues and some suggestions for resolving the problems that are currently being experienced. They will also consider the implications for dentists and their patients in the months ahead as the grip of the pincers has the profession firmly in its grip.
