(April 14th 2010): CloserStill Healthcare, organisers of the Dentistry Show (March 19th & 20th, NEC Birmingham), have announced a record attendance of 2,836 at the two-day CPD training, education and sourcing event.
The show’s dedicated dental professional attendance rose 40% to 2,836, leading speaker and exhibitor Bob Khanna to describe The Dentistry Show as: “The best show ever”.
As part of a major expansion of the event, The Dentistry Show hosted six conference streams with dedicated programmes for aesthetic dentists, hygienists and therapists, NHS dentists, practice managers, technicians and nurses. According to Senior Show Manager, Ian Reynolds, this comprehensive CPD-accredited programme makes it: “The largest training and education event for UK dentistry professionals”.
Dr. Edward Lynch, Professor, Queen's University, Belfast, one of the event’s leading speakers commented: "Everyone I've spoken to has loved the show. Delegates can explore technologies, equipment and materials through the clinical lectures and the live surgeries and workshops and then meet all the key suppliers in the exhibition afterwards -- it leads to more informed buying."
CloserStill Healthcare MD, Nick Orton said: “We invested heavily in delivering relevant and practical education that could really make a difference to every function within the dental practice. Our focus is on delivering a constantly developing event - a platform for new and cutting-edge opportunities for dentists and their suppliers, both now and in the future”.
While thousands of dental professionals from both the private and NHS sectors and their teams packed out the conference theatres, more than 200 UK and international suppliers reported brisk trading on the much-expanded exhibition floor.
"I brought three dentists with me and we attended lots of CPD lectures with some of the best speakers I've heard in a long time. The exhibition is excellent with all the key suppliers here and we've found some interesting new products which we are going to purchase. I like this show, it’s less of a circus than other exhibitions in this sector." Patrick Zachrisson, Dentist and delegate.
According to Zaki Kanaan, of the London Smile Clinic: “There is a very distinct difference in quality with The Dentistry Show compared to other events….dentists are coming here in numbers and are serious about being here. A higher quality event all around”. The audience statistics support Dr Zaki’s view, showing a near doubling of the number of practice managers attending the show as well as a dramatic increase in practicing dentists.
In line with its strategy to reflect the newest and freshest thinking, The Dentistry Show also featured the UK’s first ever Live Theatre, sponsored by Dental Directory and Clark Dental, where leading dentists performed live procedures on the show floor. The theatre was packed for every session and well received by delegates and exhibitors alike. The practical element of the show continued with hands on workshops taking place on both days with key trainers exploring a range of issues in depth.
Exhibitors re-booked more than 75% of the exhibit space for the 2011 show which returns to the NEC in Birmingham from March 4th & 5th next year
The White Solutions, MD Katherine Freeman, commented, ‘We collected some fantastic leads for our new product. Over 140 on day one and today is even busier!’
